ABOUT DAN
From high school on, Dan wanted to write. But he also wanted to fly off aircraft carriers. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he became the youngest mission commander in naval aviation. During three deployments, he captured notes about his experiences but never seriously wrote.
After seven years of active duty, Dan decided to return to civilian life. Near the end of the six month waiting period for separation from the service, a colleague introduced him to a beautiful woman who also happened to be from Wisconsin. Ten days later they were engaged and a year later married.
After starting and running a small business, Dan held a number of leadership positions in technology companies. Those jobs, and over a million miles of international air travel, kept him from writing but the tug to do so was always there.
In mid-career, Dan started another small business. At the same time, he wrote his first non-fiction book: Dream, Dare, Learn, Lead, a Guide for Tomorrow's Leaders to help young people gain the skills needed to be great leaders.
Returning to the technology world, Dan held senior positions with several companies. Finally deciding that enough is enough, Dan wrote his first novel, Set for Life, on nights and weekends. The novel about Adam Green, a young drug addict whose dying father sends packages to strangers around the world to get people to help his son, convinced Dan to write full time. Lost Packages is the second novel in the Adam Green series.
Dan and his wife are also currently working on the Welby the Wheaten Adventure Series of children's books. The series centers on the antics of Welby, a clever, loving, high-energy Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.
Dan is passionate about helping people with dyslexia use their special talents.
